In this workshop, you will learn how to bake your own sourdough bread at home using a wild-yeast, naturally fermented starter. This 12-hour course will provide you with tips on how to maintain and feed your sourdough starter, techniques in turning and kneading the dough, an explanation of tools, and more. There will be brief lectures on sourdough and health, the gut-brain connection, the history of bread, and fun facts about fermented foods. All participants will take home their own loaf of sourdough bread and starter to begin this method of baking in your own home. A limited number of baking tools will also be available for purchase. Lunch and dinner are included in the fee and hotel rooms are available with a 20% discount off room rates for registered workshop guests.
