In April of 2008, Riverside County Superior Court Judge Thomas Cahraman ruled against the faulty EIR and subsequently the city of Banning voted unanimously to vacate their previous approval of the entire project. In order to prevent the future possibility of development on the Black Bench property, the resort purchased a large portion of the land in 2009. This area has been virtually untouched for over 125 years and provides an ideal location for planting orchards, raising farm animals, and extended nature hikes. Bordered by our hills to the south and the San Bernardino mountains to the north, the view of the ranch property from our hiking trails is an awe-inspiring sight. The natural beauty of the land is something we hope to share not just with the visitors of today.
