Come explore the world of ancient grains like emmer, kamut, einkorn and spelt. From when it's planted in the ground to the moment it becomes flour, see the entire process of ancient grains. Taste different varieties and learn about the health benefits!
Workshops
Get your hands dirty with different fermented foods like kimchi and shrubs. If getting hands on isn't your thing, sit in on free demonstrations and learn about super foods like kombucha and kefir or learn what else you can do with sourdough starter!

How many different kinds of food can be made with sourdough? Made in house with organic ingredients, come taste our cheesy sourdough pizza, tartine sandwiches, or warm up with soup in a sourdough bread bowl. Pair that with our different fermented drinks at our Bacteria Bar! Bon Appetit!

123 Farm is proud to present sourdough loaves made with various organic ancient grains from around the world. See for yourself if you can find a better Canadian ancient grain loaf or sourdough pretzel! We will also have bread loaves and grains from local bakeries!

Make Your Own Kimchi Workshop

Join us for a hands-on workshop on how to make your own kimchi and learn about the health benefits. Participants will also take home a small jar of kimchi. Class lasts between 45-60 minutes including time for questions and answers. Limited to 16 participants per class.
Kitchen Adventures With The Little Guys: What To Do With Your Sourdough Starter

Ever wonder what to do with all the extra sourdough starter after you bake bread? Come explore all the creative ways you can use your extra starter in different recipes. Every starter is different…and so is every person’s kitchen adventure!
Make Your Own Fermented Salsa

In this workshop, you will learn how simple it is to ferment your own salsa at home, how to apply it in your meals and the health benefits. Participants will make and take a small jar of fermented salsa home. Class lasts between 30-45 minutes including time for questions and answers.

THE MICROSETTA INITIATIVE: CREATING A GLOBAL MAP OF THE HUMAN GUT MICRIOBIOME
As the world's largest citizen science microbiome project, The Microsetta Initiative (TMI) aims to collect microbiome samples and rich phenotypic data that spans populations across the globe, and to marry these collections with educational outreach about microbiome science. As part of a collaboration with Danone (aka Danon), TMI has begun to explore the effects of consuming fermented foods on the diversity and composition of the human gut microbiome. In addition to highlighting some interesting findings from that work, this talk will outline the goals of TMI, why the research is needed and how we go about out studies, some fascinating patterns, and how you can get involved. Join us for a microscopic look into the human gut!
